Sunday 10 March

What is Commitment Sunday?

Commitment Sunday at HT is an opportunity to reflect on what God is calling us to in the coming year, both personally and as a church family. It’s a joy to see God’s hand on our church, and we want to continue to say ‘yes’ to him as he leads us further toward himself and further outwards to our city and communities.

How We Respond

Belonging

God has made us part of his family, so we commit to not just being part of a crowd, but being involved in one another’s lives and blessing and building each other up – especially through being part of small groups.

Serving

We are the body of Christ. So each year we revisit where we are putting our time, ask the Lord how he wants us to serve his Church, and reconsider which teams he might want us to be a part of.

Praying

Nothing of significance happens in the life of a church without God, so we commit not only to praying over all we do – but also to praying together for God to be on the move.

Giving

We want to be a church marked by generosity. We use Commitment Sunday each year as an opportunity to review our finances and especially to review our personal regular giving to HT.

Financing HT in 2024

The ongoing ministry of the church is financed almost entirely through the generosity of the congregation. In 2024, our operating costs are projected to be £1,333,566.

As we have seen God's hand on our church, we have prayerfully implemented a plan to invest in our ministries and services by using our reserves to expand our space and staff team. To bring our income in line with currently projected outgoings, we have set the goal of increasing our overall giving by 10% each year for the next 3 years.
